This week ended very poorly, we had a lot of rain on sunday and we had seven of our eight appointments fall through and although we did get our bikes as hoped, mine bit the dust in the manner that the rear derailleur (the thing that changes the chain around the back gears on the rear tire) decided he wanted to attempt to befriend some of the spokes on the wheel, WHILE it was rolling. It didn't end well for the poor guy, he got all mangled and mashed and bent and so we had to limp the junky bike back to our apartment and walk and travel like we used to. much slower.
We did enjoy the bikes for the week though. we were able to get around very quick and took a small ride along a flat beach. On the first full day we had them, we ended up biking 25 miles approximately, some of that with hills. This was due to poor planning and us being a bit excessive, enjoying our new transport and biking with our recent convert Mustapha to appointments that fell through. This was a poor choice and I have not biked for over a year essentially and so my legs were so dead the next day, and even today, 3 or 4 days later, they are a bit tender. Due to boredom we named our bikes. Elder Cox, since he got the nice new bike and he likes it he named it "Lenaya" (in homage to the testaments) Since I don't like mine so much, I named it something more fitting to the way I view it. Mines name is fondly called "Butt Pony." Maybe its a little childish, but I like it cause its not a good name, for a not good bike!
In more spiritual matters, I got to give a talk this sunday, and see our recent convert brother Bernard give a talk for the first time. Both talks went well, and we had a great service on sunday. We actually got an investigator at church too, and he brought 2 of his grandkids. This we really nice cause I haven't had an investigator at church for over 6 weeks approximately.
That's about the week. Our few decent investigators are making baby steps, with one of them actually having read 6 chapters of the Book of Mormon.
Have a good week, take care.
