Ha, well this was an interesting week. we got a record low temperature last monday night, of 79.5 farenheit and 55% humidity. really, I felt a little cold actually. poor me, freezing out here, right? I got a lot of bug bites this week, more came out as the rain is picking up into rainy season. I got one on the inside of one of my toes that caused the skin there to rub and turn into a massive blister. wasn't even my fault but it hurt to walk on. My legs got covered in bites one night, about 40 on each leg I estimate when I was walking along the beach with my pants rolled up. It itched SOOO bad. Like It was waking me up in the middle of the night at 2 am. miserable.
I found a big old bird feather on the beach and made it into a quill with some parts of a pen I had. it works nice and I feel like im writing the constitution or something everytime I write with it.
We got a 24 pack of Juicy cools from a shop owner investigator, Ronella. Delicious! I still have a few, but Elder Wilson went through his in 4 days. he does that with stuff, no clue how to ration... now he begs me for mine.
I made a cool planner cover out of a plastic place mat we had sitting arounnd with madagascar characters on it. it keeps my cover dry and has the penguins on the front of it. Super cool!
We caught a massive crab in front of our apartment, was legit. He destroyed Elder Wilson's pen when we were playing with it, and he messed up my pencil. We found a cool caterpillar, and of course, nametag pictures soon followed.
Me and my companion did something amazing last transfer. We didnt get our full MSF and somehow survived on like 1/2 to 3/4 what we should have recieved. pat on the back there. I thought my whole mission was going to be with like no food, but I am glad to hear that we get a bit more than I thought. We can live comfortably on what we get now.
So, remember that lady I mentioned, Ronella? we did some service for here on her garden/farm with her boyfriend and she gave us a soursop fruit in return and some lettuce to show her gratitude. long story short but I made a drink out of it, following good directions and never having handled a soursop before. elder wilson fell asleep in the other room and didnt see me make it. turns out that the soursop was moldy or bad or something like that. Elder Wilson informed me of this fact AFTER I had already drank half my glass. well, my stomach started to ache and I figured I would wake up and throw up in the middle of the night and lose sleep, so if figured, why not get it over with now? It was a funny situation and we were in a good mood so it wasn't too bad but I (sorry if its too much details, its just a funny story to me) used my toothbrush and gagged myself on the back of my tongue and made myself threw up. It worked and was a funny situation. Elder Wilson almost threw up in reaction to me puking and we were both laughing while this was going on, mostly cause he started laughing at me and it was contagious. I have never been laughing, smiling, and barfing at the same time, and I don't think I ever will again. what a special moment! maybe you had to be there...
So we got some investigators progressing to baptism and one of them, Yvette, has a date set for the 5th. She had to show up to church to be able to be baptized then but she didnt show up until 30 minutes after we started, which scared the crud out of me and elder wilson. It was really disappointing and sad until she showed up. She brought her family too so we had 5 investigators at church, and 4 with a baptism date. I hope they don't fall through!
I was reading the scriptures and i found this verse, Mosiah 29:27. It explains why all the bad things are happening in the world and all the disasters and stuff. interesting to see how predicted this all was.
So the Elder I am supposed to get for my companion, Elder Bracken, got permanently denied from immigrating to Grenada, so after Elder Wilson leaves, I won't have a companion. they will have to do trade offs or something from another area.
thats all I have time for this week, Love you all!
