I am grateful for the last transfer I had to serve with Elder Little, and I look forward to this next one with him as well. We are excited for the things that the Lord has in store for us! We are working very diligently, and have gotten 80 lessons in the past 2 weeks. We are staying obedient and we are seeing prepared people coming our way. Our coolest guy is Andre, we contacted into him about 2 weeks ago and he has always come to church since, is feasting on the Book of Mormon, and has really felt the spirit. He loves how the teachings we are giving him has helped him understand God and the Bible more than any other church that he has experience yet. He will be baptized January 31st, and we are looking forward to it.
This week I found a February 1994 Ensign magazine in our apartment and read a great article on the dispersion of Israel. It was a in depth 5 page small print article on the linguistic evidence in regards to tracking where the lost 10 tribes went. Apparently there is great evidence that Europe has much Israelite ancestors, which reinforces what I know of as myself being in Ephraim, and having much ancestors from Sweden and Czechoslovakia. Cool stuff, but deep.
Man I did a terrible thing on accident today, but it was kinda funny. So this morning we were driving over to the senior couples condo to wash the car and take a jog on the golf course. there was a lot of rain last night and so a lot of puddles. Anyways, driving in the parking lot/ street there, rounding a corner and passing a parked SUV when a man dressed in white shirt and tie comes from behind the SUV. there was not enough time to slow sufficiently and so he got splashed on by the puddle i was about to hit. Really was an unfortunate accident, bad luck. He didn't get too wet or dirty, but I felt bad and rolled the window down and apologized. He didn't reply, just stood there vexed. Yeah, I felt bad.
This week I found myself dreaming in local slang. I guess that is a big milestone. In the dream some guy was telling me the prices for something and told me in $US, not $TT and I got annoyed at him and told him "Man, I's a Trinbagonian nah!" that translates to "I am from Trinidad and Tobago"
I took Elder Little up to Roxborough yesterday to visit some members. It was a nice drive, and I really enjoyed driving it. As you all know I love cars so it was a great 30 minutes of windy roads and hills. Pretty big cliffs though at time and pretty skinny roads, but I have really gotten the hang of the roads here. I can comfortably squeeze the car between a cliff and oncoming traffic with only about 6 inches on each side, (if that much) and on a corner to boot. I'm not trying to brag, and don't worry that is not reckless driving, that is just how you have to drive here! Our trip up there was successful and we got to explore an abandoned plantation building for a few minutes that we found. It was a quick day.
Not the coolest of pictures, but it will suffice for today. Keep it real y'all!
That is all for this week!
