First off, I am getting transfered tomorow to Chaguanas, Trinidad. It is in Central Trinidad, so should be a very different area. I will encounter mostly Indians, so its going to be teaching a LOT of Hindus and thats about it! Looks like im going to India after all (thats where i thought of first after opening my call a year ago) I am going to be serving with an Elder Petersen. He has been out 20 months, so I hope he isn't too trunky. I also hope he likes a clean apartment and doesn't eat too much, lol.
So I am happy to report that our baptism of an awesome lady went great, and I even got to confirm her on Sunday, which was my first time doing that, which was a great experience. It was really cool to get to say the words "and confirm you a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints". That was really interesting to say, i felt the authority that God has given us to be able to say that. How awesome the gospel is!
I am very happy to have helped the branch out here in Arima in more than just re-activation before I left for Chaguanas with the one baptism. I really have felt a lot of love here and seen the branch improve in the spirit and feeling in the meetings. I also have learned a lot this transfer from Elder Christ, he has been a great companion and I would say that i learned about faith and attitude from him the most. It doesn't help that i was a bit depressed by my birds death when i came to the area, but I really have felt a great change in myself in such a short time. I hope to do as well in my next area!
another cool thing we did was an idea of Elder Christ's. After the baptism, we had a fast for just gratitude. We just wanted to fast to show how grateful to the Lord that we were for the baptism. it was cool cause every time i would ever think about food or being hungry, i just thought of how grateful i was. It was one of the easiest fasts I have done!
So thats all I have to say for the day! I hope you all have a good day. Oh one more thing, we were going ziplining but we had to cancel cause the place closed, but we will do it a next time. would have been sweet. Have a great week, I love you all.
