We had a baptism this week, Curtis finally was prepared and passed his interview. He is now happily the newest member of Point Fortin. It was a nice service, his mother and him were both very emotional about how he was her first son to baptize. That was cool. Elder Anderson got to baptize him, it was the first time he had baptized someone, so that was pretty cool to see. The Sunday I confirmed him and it was a really nice sacrament meeting. We had 40 people there, including President and Sister Mehr who came down to visit. The spirit was there really strong and everyone was touched. My favorite comment on it was from Sis. Debbie Sirjusingh who, after the meeting, said to Curtis “I have not been this happy in a very long while.” It was absolutely wonderful!
Members of the Branch are now super excited for missionary work and we should see some pretty cool miracles coming soon. Partly due to the requests of member we are now gong to have an MTC every Thursday night (Missionary Training Class). It will be like a district meeting but for the members. We will see how that goes.
We have revieved guidance from our leaders and the Lord to use the Book of Mormon more. We are going to "try to flood the West Indies with the Book of Mormon" We are ordering a bunch and we have been promised our baptisms will double if we do it. I believe it and am excited to make it even more of a focus. It really is a special book. I can talk to anyone, find out a question or a concern about God that they have, and then share something from the Book of Mormon that will soothe their concern and answer their questions. Its really fun to do!
On a less spiritual note, I put the lime in d' coconut, and drank it all up. As of yet, i have not had to call the doctor, but i will keep you posted on any exciting developments that may occur. ;)
Also, there was a lot of rain this week. Some areas actually flooded. We had to bike down this muddy hill and without fenders we need to go slowly or get muddy. I goaded my companion to go fast down it, challenging is his courage and manliness. He fell for it hook line and sinker and got COVERED in mud. This was actually good though for him cause people would come up and ask him what happened, and then we would contact them.
Here is a pic of the baptism, and thats all i got time for this week. stay cool all!
