So the first thing I did this week is after emailing me and my companion took a sweet trip up the river. we walked up it, got some cool pics, chilled out at a bridge and watched some fish, and we even found a vine thick enough to swing on. The vine was 100ft long at least and hanging down from a massive tree, almond I think it was. It was really fun to swing on, but sketchy at first as I didn't know if it would hold. To make it even better, our appointment that night had someone a house over watching Tarzan. So I got to swing on a vine like Tarzan. Best. Mission. Ever.
That Picture of that bug thing is some worm that makes its home out of dust. It makes itself a shell out of dust and can pop out one end or the other to go different directions. Weird thing.
Another Highlight of this week is I got a machette! I still need to sharpen the thing all the way as it takes a while but It is really fun. Technically we are not supposed to have weapons as missionaries, but the great thing is they are service tools! we clean up peoples yards with them. It was really cheap, only like $7 US dollars. Even though it is a service tool, I am not saying that I don't slept with it at the foot of my bed. i still have a memory of the times people have tried to break into our apartment with us there.
We had a power outage at night here. It sucked. 3 am in the morning and I wake up in a pool of my own sweat. Fans off, street lights off, everything off. You could hear all the mosquitoes desecending on us. I took my mosquitoe net down just the other day cause it was too hot, so I got up, put bug spray on, got a drink and went back and laid there sweating until the power was restored an hour later. It was an island wide black out and everyone was grumpy and irritable that entire day.
So we have zone conference on Grenada this week. We heard some news about our mission. By october, so over the next 2 transfers we will have 75 new missionaries coming in, and only 25 leaving. This will put our mission at 233 missionaries, at 250 the mission gets automtically split and past 200 they start considering it. Hopefully we don't get split, hopefully if we do I stay with my current mission pres, and hopefully I get to train, which I am really looking forward too.
I wish you all a good week, keep the faith and stay strong!
