After 7 months of serving and toiling in Point Fortin I am getting transferred. I have bittersweet feeling about this, as I love the people and the branch here very much. I have made many friends that I will cherish for life, and I have seen a great deal of success, as well as much trial. I feel the greatest lesson I have learned down here was probably about leadership as I was the District Leader for all 5 transfers.
I am getting transferred too...... (drumroll)...............

Tobago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For those who don't know Tobago, go look it up! This place is a small island off the coast of northern Trinidad and is a very desired place to serve. It only has 3 companionships on it, one set of elders, one set of sisters, and a senior couple. From what I have heard it is one of the most beautiful islands out there, and it has a huge amount of cool forts, beaches, crystal clear water, and waterfalls. Its a pretty popular tourist location and has a lot of resorts. The branch there is very strong and doing very well, my companion is going to be an Elder Horsely (spelling?). He has been out for 2 transfers and is a super hard worker from what I have heard. I suspect we will get along fabulous and have a lot of success, they already have some good progressing investigators. I will be the DL up there as well. Have I ever expressed my absolute joy and satisfaction with how my mission is the best? Not to brag or make anyone jealous, but a gorgeous tropical island like Tobago just gets me excited and grateful for the world God has made (and for the ways I'm able to enjoy it).
Yeah so I'm organizing for that now, getting all packed up and ready. I will send some pretty pics for sure! I will be flying over on Wednesday most likely.
I will have a new mailing address, but don't frighten, all the letters sent to the mainland of Trinidad will still get to me, just not nearly so quick. The new address is the best way to get stuff to me.

My last week down here was really good too. It wasn't really the easiest, but we got 5 people to come to church, a couple people progressing and we almost hit our zones "standard of excellence." I ended on a good note here.
I got a package from my family with some chocolate and a note saying one of the "spooky treats" was for my companion. I could not see any part of them that looked remotely halloweeny/spooky except for the blob of melted chocolate. :D Its the thought that counts after all. The toffee and pecan flakes are good though, and the chocolate suckers will still taste good.

I made a local dish of Pelau this week. It turned out ok, it was my first try and without a recipe and only on hear say from locals. I am trying take #2 today for P-day and I'm confident that Its going to be delicious cause I know what I messed up on before. Cooking good stuff is kinda fun, seeing people enjoy what you cooked is even better. I actually bought a Caribbean foods cookbook and I will probably be trying a lot of complex dishes soon.
that's the pelau!
I also got to do a fun thing with carrying a 50+lb of figs for a member on my bike. It was awkward, but I did actually ride with it too. I'm going to miss bikes, but I will enjoy cars too. (yeah we have 3 cars on Tobago, one for each companionship).

Anyways, I'm out of time, and my hands are about to fall off from all this typing. I got a big email today, didn't I?
Hope you all had a good time reading it!
Until next week, best of luck!
