First off, I want to share what we are going to do today for our p-day.
Saturday night a lady gave us some fresh shark her sons had caught literally a few hours earlier. We put it in the freezer and today we are going to make shark n' bake. I will have to let you guys know how it goes! What other mission does that happen? :D
This week we had a few cool things happen. This week was a break through of a week, while we didn't have the bikes fixed we still had great success from member lessons, getting 7. Most of them came from our recent convert Mustapha because he was off work for Tuesdayand Wednesday from all the rain. He went with us to so many appointments, it was such a blessing. Due to that we now have 3 people with baptism dates. Every single one of them we have taught with Mustapha, 2 of them being referrals from him. 1 of them even came to church, so member work really is making all the difference over here. When we were teaching with him we had a cool lesson with a guy in his tiny 1 room board house with nothing but an old style oil burning lamp for light. It was a sweet experience. We also taught this spiritual Baptist reverend deaconess priestess lady (that's her titles and positions in her church) She claimed she had had a vision of the Book of Mormon and read 10 chapters of it in 2 days. She understood is SO clearly, but rejected the restoration and priesthood authority as restored to Joseph Smith. She told us she would never be baptized in our church but that she would tell all she knew about this lost record of scripture. She even said she would teach from it in her church. So now there is a Baptist church here in point fortin that is being taught from the Book of Mormon. It may open doors for us in the future.
A lady gave us some weird fruit that looks like a peach/coconut/potato mixture. It tastes like a slightly bland peach, and is pretty good! That picture of it is us cutting one up and holding a intact one. The outside texture is like a potato, looks like a potato, but has a pit and orange inside like a peach. one of them had 3 pits in it, it was super weird!
We helped Mustapha clean out his fish pond in the back of his house, it was really nasty and had some weird stuff it it, like a razors, an eel, bottles, and what looks like a giant grocery cart wheel. Good times, also smelly times....
That was basically our week, it was good, but it did have its share of frustrating times too.
I hope you all have a great week, take care!
