There have been a couple defining themes of this week. First off, it has been blazing hot! Really sunny and so humid. Its really annoying because you just sweat so much, and then after all that sweating, it doesn't cool you down cause its so humid so you just end up hot and sweaty. On the plus side, I am a bit tanner after this weeks efforts of finding in the sun most the day! (Brightside!)
Yeah, we are still doing a lot of finding, our investigator pool remains small, but its a bit bigger than last week. The problem right now is that there is a celebration called Borough Day coming up this weekend, and its as bad as carnival. We will be locked down from Thursday at nightfall to sunday. Not ideal, but its for our safety. Even 2 weeks out from it, this week was full of craziness. lots of parties all over. Its big enough apparently foreigners come down for it. We saw spot lights off in a rich area last night going to the rhythm of some loud music (big fete) Btw, that's what they call a party here, a fete. its originally French, but is pronounce like fet, as in fettuccini. all these parties are making things interesting here, as people are getting in a party'mindset and don't want to hear about god. I am honestly not kidding when I say how half the houses it seems that we call into we can smell weed from inside. People are really going crazy. I think I have smelt weed more this past week than my whole mission combined, and that's saying something.
Anyways, don't worry, we are safe, and people leave us alone. There really isn't a lot else to talk about other than that...
Oh, here is a picture of what some of the paths and roads are made of. Its pitch, from tar and oil stuff. They have it all over here, and when its really hot, it gets really squishy. its like a thermometer, the deeper your foot sinks, the hotter it is .The other pic is that of a Cashew. Yeah, cashews grow on trees, on the bottom of a fruit. you can eat its, its a decent fruit, and the nut chills out at the bottom. I bet you all just learned something (or I didn't know that and am just assuming that no one else did, lol) Hey, they aren't a lot of cashew trees in Utah, give me a break!
Anyways, that's all for this week, so I hope you guys have a good week too, and take care!
