So this week was transfer week. Here in the West Indies Mission, transfer day tends to be a pretty slow day as far as missionary work is concerned. There was a lot of traveling, which I am not as big of a fan of due to being very uncomfortable in those buses. I got my new companion, Elder Regis. He is from Trinidad and has been out about a year. We were already pretty good friends before hand, and so far we have gotten along well. He makes really good pizzas, so that has been nice. Its fun getting a new companion because you get to learn a couple new recipes, and teach a few too. Makes the first week really fun cause we get to eat foods that I havent eaten 2 or 3 times a week for the past 2 months. We both really want to baptize this transfer and I have good hopes for it too. Friday was a really good day for us, I may have actually been being guided by the spirit on who to talk to and what houses to approach. All of the places I went too off of random ideas (or so I thought) were good contacts. It really was one of the best days on my mission so far!
We found this one family on another day that is kinda creepy, its a lot of sisters and we are pretty sure they are just meeting with us cause they like us. I hope they can get the right intentions of actual interest in the Gospel, not us, otherwise, we will probably drop them, especially cause they aren't keeping commitments so far.
Rainy season is coming full force, and we have gotten soaked a couple times. we kinda let it happen, we protect our papers and electronics and just walk in the pouring rain, its fun really. The thing I don't like about the rainy season is the bugs have somehow managed to get worse, we are always having sandflies bite us, unless we put on repellent, which gets rained or sweated off in 30 mins. Sandflies are terrible.
Its still a fun adventure, and its getting faster every week. If it keeps speeding up like this, which im told it does, then I don't know how I will keep track of the time.
I hope this email finds you all well! Love you all! -Elder Jeppson
