Due to popular request, and my forgetfulness to mention it last week, no my address has not changed. as long as i stay on trinidad, the address will be the same. so, Chaguanas. My apartment doesnt have A/C and we are walking all over, but the kitchen sink has hot water at the tap for the first time in my mission, so I think its worth it! My companion, Elder Petersen is pretty cool, we will get along just great, and we got 4 investigators to church!!! Thats like a record for my mission Im pretty sure, and the branch had 40 people, so it was a really good sunday.
Our area is very flat, which is nice cause we are walking, and it feels quite different from Northern Trinidad. There is a large part of our area called felicity, which is like the 2nd or 3rd highest concentration of hindu's outside of India. it feels like india when your in it. then there is a part that is practically all Muslim. Depending on where your walking you literally feel like your in the middle east or India depending on how many mosques or hindu temples are around. Its funny when we ask someone if they go to church, they say "oh yeah, i go to temple every week!"
A challenge we had this weekis we got sick, and on friday we had to stay in, it was pretty boring. I caught up a bit on some rest and got some Old testament read (im in 2 samuel now). we are feeling better now expect my companion has a cough still.
A cool thing is we had a lessong with a less active man who used to be super active and he told us he doesnt thing he needs to confess to a bishop/branch president to repent, and he was pretty stubborn on it. it was great cause the spirit really helped us teach him, it brought some stuff to my rememberance from the "miracle of forgiveness" on how after entering into the baptismal covenant we need to go to the lord appointed servants as they literally have the Keys to the kingdom of heaven. It was a cool lesson, and at the end he said he would talk to the branch president to clear up his marijuana use and other things. and then, he gave us a CD container full of "the blues" (what they call pornography here) and asked us to get rid of it for him, by tossing it in the gutter/ditch thing. It was cool, we went out to a field by his house, broke all the DVD's in half and threw them in an overgrown swampy ditch. That was our success for the week.
We have a lot of people who are close to being baptized, but half them need surgery so it may not be till next transfer until they can get baptized.
That was my week, sorry no pics this week, i don't trust this email shop computer with my memory card. I wish you all the best, I love you, and thank you for all your prayers and support.
