So this week has been crazy, so much to write, as always. I guess I will start with the fun stuff. Me and my comp made blow guns out of hangers, paper towels, and a pvc pipe we had and hunted lizards, actually got a few. We had people try to break into our apartment, 2x. The first night there was at least several, and we heard them try the front door, and the kitchen door, and accidentally making noise on debris around the yard. Elder Wilson grabbed his cutlass (its what they call machetes here) and i grabbed a big rolling pin in the kitchen and we went out on our balcony and warned them that we were armed. they left but we slept lightly. our apartment is like fort knox though, tons of bars over every window, except one that is high up. the doors have big metal gates on them too. 2 nights later we were doing our nightly planning and heard something, stopped and listened, and guess what? some one was on our roof, so elder wilson grabbed his cutlass and jumped on the roof, but they jumped off onto the hillside that our apartment is on. lol, some people... we saw their feet dangle off the edge of the roof when we first were out there, and when we shouted, they disappeared. So thats things in Grenville. lots of things are quite ghetto here, but at least our washer is working now and the water is on most of the time, they shut it off when it rains. I wish I could say more in these emails... Church was good, expect none of our investigators came the the assigned speakers from St. Georges didnt show up so we improved the whole thing. was hard. I was sick of feeling discouraged and wishing for home so I decided if my testimony was better then it would be easier to be out here, so I decided to do my best to try what we tell everyone. I said a quick prayer first, asking for an answer, then I read some scriptures from the book of mormon, and then I tried to do the most sincere prayer I could, asking for help with feeling better while being out here. Guess what happened? for the first time in my life, I can definitively say that I for sure, 100%, undeniable felt the Spirit. It was a warm feeling in my chest with a tingling sensation down my back. So I my spirits are lifted, my testimony is stronger, and my convictions are strengthened! So far so good. I love the analogy of the refiners fire. The iron goes into the refiners fire to be strengthened. Thats what a mission is like, except imagine the Iron chose to go into the fire, and it knows it can leave at any time it wants. Its hard, and the only way the "Iron" will stay in the fire is if it knows that its the right thing and keeps the end goal in mind, being better. thats how i felt this week.
more things that I remembered to say, so the mail here actually isnt too bad, but it takes like a month to get here i hear. the address for the Grenada Senior couples house is
Elder William Jeppson
PO Box 3804
Lagoon Road
St. Georges, Grenada
West Indies
That will get letters and packages through, and if you do packages, send through DHL. they are less likely to get searched that way. there is a chance i will have to pay customs and taxes on things that are sent, so please ask me first about what your sending before sending a package). I have heard stories of elders getting christmas cards in july, so keep in mind the mail maaaay be slow, but those were unexpected circumstances, so it shouldnt that bad all the time.
Today for p-day we played ulltimate frisbee on the beach. apparently we are allowed to walk in the water, so that was nice, and good whenever the "frisbee" got sent into the waves. I say "frisbee" cause it was too ice cream gallon size lids taped together, but really, it worked perfect! Was loads of fun, but we lost. we got subway after, and are emailing right now.
Love to everyone! Keep it awesome, and please do try snail mail i guess, cause email is crazy busy.
