So I wonder if some of you have noticed that you are now getting my emails more regularly. I finally figured out how to get everyone in a contact list so that they could all be included and I would be able to enter it faster and not forget anyone. The end result? being stuck with having to read more of my emails. Enjoy!
Sorry last week wasn't a terribly good email, I was shorted on time because we were running late cause we stayed too long on the other side of the island. I blame the slow bus drivers we got, its disconcerting when they take the corners squealing tires all over but i would take that over the ones we had that wouldn't take the stupid van out of 2nd gear!
Last district meeting i got my weekly mail delivered from the senior couple and to my suprise I had SEVEN letters. I was very suprised and very grateful for all the letters (thanks family) I teased the other elders by complaining about my heavy bag and when they would ask why it was heavy, I would complain about the weight of 7 letters. It was fun, if not a little cruel.
My sister asked me a question in a letter about how many bug bites do I think I have had total. the answer would be found in 1st Nephi 12:1, so you can read that and try to figure out my reply, should be fun.
I went on a spider killing rampage in the apartment this week, as they were getting out of hand. No harmful spiders, just annoying small ones that gets webs everywhere. I used bug spray and a broom and cleaned them all up, and for the moment, they are subdued, but they will make a comeback... eventually.
So I don't think I mentioned this last week, but we are making some real progress with a man named James. We met him 2 weeks ago and he has come to church since and his baptism is planned for Saturday. If all goes well, which it seems like it will, then I will get a baptism before my next email. Keep me in your prayers for that, I sure can't wait to experience the joy of bringing a soul to Christ. I am already super happy for bringing him this close. If the baptism goes through, I will go into much detail next week on that.
We did service at a members farm this week, it was really far back in the jungle and was a great experience. Me and elder Regis each got to plant a cocoa tree, which is really cool cause those can live to be 100 years old. We also planted a nutmeg tree, which is the Grenadian nation export and I got that picture with one and my name tag. the other pic is of that baptism in Grand Anse that I got to witness last Saturday.
Another great thing that happened recently was I got a wonderful package from my family, it had 3 excellent ties in it, and some music and sun flower seeds. I love the sunflower seeds, my companion was super jealous of the ties. I love ties now...
I had some great studies this week on Jacob 5 with the allegory of the vineyard and then an even better study on ancient house of Israel. I traced all the way from Adam to Moses, to Lehi, and me. (me having been grafted into the Lord's covenant people by baptism) I never knew so much about Israel and how it applied to me.
Im doing good out here still, I passed my 4 month mark last week, so now 1/6th done. doesn't take long, does it? It will be really easy to keep track of my half year/6 month mark cause that will be my birthday. I have a harder moment every now and then but all I have to do is think of the bigger picture and what I know and then I get grateful for the chance to serve others and improve myself. I don't know where I would be without mission...
Love you all!
Have a good week, be safe, and keep my investigator James in your prayers please!
